John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga are the original love tandem in ABS-CBN’s Saturday sitcom Home Sweetie Home. Apparently, John Lloyd went into showbiz hiatus, suddenly disappeared in the show, and leaving Toni alone.
The show is rumored to end soon. However, Toni said she cannot confirm if the rumor is true.
“Kasi, nang pumirma ako ng kontrata sa ABS-CBN, part pa ’yung Home Sweetie Home, so, hindi ko pa alam. Two years pa ’yung pinirmahan kong kontrata last month.
“Pero, actually, things can also change, hindi rin natin masasabi.”
According to her, Cruz already talked to her husband, Director Paul Soriano.
“I think, nagkita sila ni Paul, mga a month ago, last month, sa office ni Paul, nagkamustahan naman sila,” she said.
Although they have not discussed the issue, Gonzaga clarified that she has no grudges against Cruz.
“Hindi kami nagkausap na. Pero naiintindihan ko kasi ang mga artista, eh. May kanya-kanyang breaking point. May kanya-kanya namang breaking point ang lahat ng tao.
“It just so happened na kami ang magkatrabaho at that time. Pero, I didn’t take anything personally kasi trabaho lang naman lahat, eh.
“So, huwag mong pepersonalin ang mga bagay-bagay lalo na kapag trabaho.
“Wala naman kaming pinag-awayan, actually. Ang relationship namin ni Lloydie is very professional.”
Toni Gonzaga admits that she has John Lloyd Cruz’s contact number, but doesn’t want to bother the actor’s personal life.
“May number ako ni Lloydie, kaya lang, alam mo ’yun, you sometimes want to give that person the space that maybe he really wanted. Because if he distanced himself from the industry, maybe, he needed that time, so we respected that,” she ended.
