Pamilya Roces director Joel Lamangan knew about the show losing the ratings game against its ABS-CBN rival, Halik. In an interview with PEP.ph, the director excitedly noted about its upcoming finale.
He expressed his amazement on Katrina Halili’s acting and involvement in the show.

Lamangan pointed out that Halili made Pamilya Roces better. He praised Katrina on her acting skills and her willingness to do everything he requires.
“Si Katrina, kinuha lahat ‘yung magkakapatid at ang mga Roces na babae, ibibitay sana. Nakakaloka! Ang husay-husay ni Katrina. She’s a good actress. Alam mo, wala ‘yung ere. Wala! Kahit anong ipagawa mo… ‘Kailangan maghubad-hubad ka rito! Labanan natin ‘yung kabila! Ipakita natin ang panty at bra! ‘Okay, direk!’ Ipakita niya ang panty at bra niya. Hubad-hubad siya. Wala siyang eklay. Ginawa niya kahit ano! Napakahusay niya!”
Direk Joel explained Maisa’s story.
Katrina is Maisa, another antagonist in the Roces family. She, however, entered the story just as the show is nearing its ending.
“Part talaga siya ng istorya. Kaya lang, pinabilis na lang agad. Kasi nga, tatapusin na. Pero naka-design talaga siya, 10 weeks. Kapag sa 10 weeks, hindi nag-rate, cut short. Naka-design talaga siya na 10, kaya 10 na lang kami.”

The director expressed how now-defunct Inday Will Always Love You had a winning chance against Halik.
“Kasi, tao kami ng Halik. Noong una, mahina ang Halik. Kalaban niya, Inday Will Always Love You. Ang Inday ang mataas noon. Nang pumasok na kami, nagha-heighten na sila, kami naman ngayon ang nag-suffer.”
