PolyEast Records leveled up its game of bringing everyone together this Christmas season by launching a collaborative album between some of the best OPM artists of today. Its title is “@ Christmas Time”, the album featured rock icon Bamboo; singer-songwriters TJ Monterde, Drei Rana and Izzeah; spoken word artist-songwriter Juan Miguel Severo; R&B singers Sassa and Chan Millanes.
As an early holiday offering, @Christmas Time album was launched via live performances from the contributing artists and facebook live streaming; and sold limited edition CD in YZone Greenfield District in Mandaluyong City.
In cooperation with Yamaha Motor Philippines, this is one way of giving back to the fans and looking forward to another year of good music and of great hope.
Sharing the love during the @Christmas Time launch, the project also encouraged everto contribute and pay forward this holiday season as the CD buyers brought donations (school supplies, toiletries, canned goods, medicines) in benefit of YZone Gives Back’s chosen charity–Caring for the Future Foundation (CFF).
Collecting six remakes and two original compositions, the album offers a fresh take on the familiar and new sounds of the season. Bamboo, one of the country’s household names of Pinoy rock, reinterpreted his own version of a Judy Garland gem “Have Yourself A Merry Christmas” with his trademark of smooth rock style.
TJ Monterde is also celebrating the upcoming holiday season through his re-recorded version of Litrato Ngayong Pasko, a love-oriented Christmas tune dedicated for loved ones. PolyEast Records first introduced the song on its official YouTube account in Christmas 2015 and went viral.
Severo, however, does his take on a Bing Crosby classic I’ll Be Home For Christmas in an acoustic guitar number. Known for his spoken word poetry and acting stints on TV and films, he launched his songwriting and singing career with his first single Walls under Polyeast Records.
Sassa Dagdag or simply Sassa is best known for her R&B and soulful songs online. With her newly recorded Yuletide song called Ang Pasko ay Pasko shone the brightest by showing off her brand of R&B vocals. After her big break on The Voice Kids Philippines in 2015, she has released singles including Itatago Na Lang and Picking Petals.”
Wasting no time to spread the Christmas feels, another 2017 The Voice Teens Philippines finalist (Team Lea) joined this special Christmas collaboration and Chan Millanes does a refreshing remake of Sana Ngayong Pasko. Chan, on the other hand, is currently promoting his latest single Tuldok.
An uplifting and infectious track, All I Want For Christmas is You was also added in the album. The song is a duet by Chan and Sassa showcasing their youthful vibe on Mariah Carey’s timeless Yuletide hit.
Paying ode to the great George Michael, Drei Rana put his acoustic approach to the song Last Christmas. Drei is one of Polyeast Records’ newest artists who released Ligaya as his first single followed by another original composition called Walang Labis Walang Kulang.
One more classic remake is the song The Christmas Song—the Nat King Cole staple reinterpreted by singer-songwriter Izzeah. The 16-year-old Cebuana released her first single titled City Lights and newly released song Coffee.
@Christmas Time has something for everyone and probably an album that will be joining Christmas playlists for years to come. The album is now available digitally on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer and other streaming apps. The eight-track set will be available as a limited edition CD on Lazada and PolyEast Records kiosks.
