- The 2018 Christmas Station ID entitled “Family is Love” is now airing on ABS-CBN channel 2 and posted online on the ABS-CBN Facebook and ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel
ABS-CBN’s Christmas Station ID “Family is Love” tugged at the heartstrings of Filipinos everywhere garnering more than 1.2 million views on YouTube less than a day after it was launched on Sunday (November 18) on “ASAP Natin ‘To” and has over 1.6 million views as of Tuesday (November 20) morning.
The 2018 Christmas Station ID’s heartwarming stories featuring five unique families have shown that in times of joy or despair, triumphs or trials, we all go back to where we feel love, comfort, acceptance and hope — our family. These are the Garcia brothers—three military men from different military services who fought side by side during the Marawi siege who were often separated for years at a time; superwoman and mom Lorlie “Keribels” Noblezada who earned her college degree while juggling jobs as a fisherman, security guard, traffic enforcer, coast guard volunteer, masahista, and “crying lady” and supporting her family of ten; Dr. Viktorija Cirvinskaite, a 30 year-old missionary doctor from Lithuania who found family in the residents of Talim Island, when she found her calling and stayed to become its only resident doctor; Asian Games gold medalist Margielyn Didal and her family, who worked together to support the skateboarder in reaching her dreams; and inspiring communities in Benguet, who helped one another despite tragic losses to rise up after the ravage of typhoon Ompong.
Hundreds of Kapamilya stars participated in the video, which was sung by the likes of Vice Ganda, Coco Martin, Sarah Geronimo, Gary Valenciano, Piolo Pascual, new Kapamilya Regine Velasquez, and loveteams Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano, James Reid and Nadine Lustre, and Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto. The Kapamilya Network released a recording lyric video featuring the artists who led the vocals last Friday (November 16) that has already garnered more than 2.5 million views on Youtube as of today.
Netizens also had rave reviews for the station ID, with the hashtag #FamilyIsLoveDay also trending worldwide on Twitter.
“This Station ID is beautiful; it really tugs at the heart strings and it made me miss my parents who both passed away last year,” said YouTube user Reli RJ.
Meanwhile, another netizen lauded the Station ID for reminding him of home.
“Thank you ABS-CBN. Living in the US for the last 25 years and not being able to celebrate Christmas in the Philippines because of work, I always look forward to your Holiday Station ID,” said Facebook user Frederick Torres Nangca. “And as always, you nailed it and it’s hitting hard; with ‘kurot’ but with a ‘ngiti’ after watching the whole segment.”
The ABS-CBN Christmas Station ID 2018 was created by ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management (CCM) Division headed by Robert Labayen, Johnny De Los Santos and Patrick de Leon, and ABS-CBN COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes and directed by Paolo Ramos with second unit directors Peewee Azarcon Gonzales and Lorenz Roi Morales. Lyrics were written by Robert and Lloyd Oliver Corpuz and brought to life by composers Marcus Davis and Amber Davis.
Also lending their voices in the song were the UST Singers, the AFP Chorale, Ramon Magsaysay High School Choir, Manila and Koro Bangkal Magbikin. Amber Davis also provided vocals for the music used for the five stories.
