Former Sugarpop member Renzo Almario joined “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” on November 6 and declared something very personal.
Sugarpop is a children’s singing group formed by GMA Network in 2006. The members of this group were the finalists of the defunct reality talent search “Popstar Kids.”
Members are Julie Anne San Jose, Rita Iringan (now known as Rita Daniella), Pocholo Bismonte, Vanessa Rangadhol, and Renzo.
The former child celebrity, who is now 22 years old, admitted that he is gay during his appearance in “It’s Showtime.”
The singer even proudly introduced his boyfriend Ceejay who was present in the audience along with his father Roman Almario.
Renzo burst in tears when his father expressed how he supports his son’s sexual orientation.
Roman said, “Palagi po naman akong supportive sa kanya. I always accept the things I cannot change.”
Renzo also expressed his own advocacy as part of the LGBTQ Community.
He said, “Bago ako sumali dito sa ‘TNT,’ sabi ko, if ever po na makakabalik ako sa showbiz po, gusto ko naman po na i-inspire yung mga tao and the world through wisdom and voice.
“Pero gusto ko, mas credible ako na mag-inspire ng tao pero, first and foremost, naging totoo ako sa sarili ko.”
Renzo Almario did not just make a public revelation, he was also the daily winner of that episode of “Tawag Ng Tanghalan.”
