- Netflix takes on the Filipino graphic novel “Trese” and turns it to an animated series
- It is a sci-fi comic that involves mythical creature from the Philippine folklore
- It will be produced by the same executive producer of ‘Wonder Woman” and “The Legend of Korra”
Netflix has been open to accepting Filipino movies this year, and the online video-streaming platform is looking for more.
Netflix will soon stream a new anime series that is based on the Filipino graphic novel “Trese” created by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo.
The story of the comic revolves around the character Alexandra Trese who lives in Manila.
She journeys along with Filipino mythical creature based on the Philippine folklore. She will be fighting supernatural beings that crawled its way to the criminal underworld.
The series is expected to do great.
The executive producer of the upcoming anime series is Jay Oliva – the same guy behind “Wonder Woman” and “The Legend of Korra”.
Co-producing are Shanty Harmayn and Tanya Yuson from BASE Entertainment.
Alexandra Trese may be our next favorite anime heroine.
