Calum Scott has graced Manila with his heartfelt songs and smooth vocals as he held his ‘Only Human’ Asia Tour in Manila last October 30.
Prior to the big night, the British singer shared some of his thoughts with the media in an intimate press conference.
Scott was all smiles as he entered the room and didn’t fail to express his thankfulness and excitement upon finding out that he will perform in the Philippines once again. It can be remembered that he became emotional during his last visit upon witnessing the support of his Filipino fans while performing at Shangri-La Plaza on March 4, 2018.
“(When I learned that I was coming back), I just screamed. I’m so happy to be back in the Philippines. We had such a great time last time that I played in the shopping center.”
He then shared the story behind his album, Only Human.
“I’m definitely inspired by my life. Only Human is really a story about my life.”
Upon coming out a few weeks ago, he said that his latest single No Matter What was his most personal song written to date.
“It’s a song born from loneliness, acceptance and the heartbreaking but liberating tale of my coming out experience. What I love about this song is that it isn’t just limited to a story of sexual identity, but about the relationship between parent and child and acceptance as a whole. This song didn’t make my debut album because I simply wasn’t ready at that time to give it to the world.”
Scott then shared his future plans in his career, one of which is a second album.
“Album two is the focus. I also have a special edition of Only Human coming out on the 13th of November. Also, I wanna do an extensive tour next year. I just wanna keep singing live [and] keep recording new music.
“My wish is to do this for the rest of my life. To just make people smile, to relate to people. Be their voice to support, to be their shoulder to cry on.”
On a lighter note, the singer shared his humor as he said that he wants to be either Joker or Cinderella as his Halloween costume someday.

“I just want to do anything that will make people laugh.”
When asked about his dream collaboration, he answered that he wants to work with Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran. But he doesn’t limit himself to artists in the same genre as he also named Cardi B and Kanye West as those he wants to collaborate with.
