- ‘ASAP Natin ‘To’ premiered today, November 18 on Philippine TV.
- The revitalized ‘ASAP’ premiered this afternoon and viewers flooded Twitter with their opinions about the show.
- The longest-running Sunday-variety show on Philippine TV received mixed batch of reviews so far, as some have criticized the reboot for being ‘too’ different, while others think that it is the perfect way to start again with new segments.
ABS-CBN’s Sunday afternoon variety show ‘ASAP’ has already established its name and unbeaten record for its 23-year run in the Philippine TV history, with all of its rival shows of the same time slot has already gone off-air and reformatted.
But with all surprise, upon the entry of Regine Velasquez-Alcasid as their newest Kapamilya, ‘ASAP’ has announced a reformat also coinciding with the new management. During the show’s ‘ASAP Live in Sydney’ where the Asia’s Songbird first appeared, Lui Andrada was named as the new business unit head of the show.
Since the new management decided not to carry over previous segments to the revitalized show titled ‘ASAP Natin ‘To’, solid viewers and even the new ones shared their mixed reactions especially on the visible changes in format on all of its segments.
While some loved the opening and the segment which featured Sarah Geronimo and Regine Velasquez, others were slightly unsure about the changes, with some unhappy that the show was overly dramatic.
This is just me but I prefer an ALL OUT MUSICAL PERFORMANCE on ASAP instead of replacing with story telling segments. Just me. 🙋🏽♂️#ASAPNatinTo

Ang drama naman ng @ASAPOFFICIAL #ASAPNatinTo
I just hope the new management will leave the drama to teleseryes/docus. ASAP I believe is for celebrities to showcase their talents. Sayang ang dancers at singers. #JustSaying

Honest observations on #ASAPNatinTo:
Positive:
– World class performances 👍🏽
– Singers singing LIVE 👍🏽
– Regine-Sarah combo 👍🏽Negative
– Ang haba ng narrative parts. They become boring along the way. Sayang sa airtime.
– Mas kumonti ang performances.— Miss France Sajorda (@PrincessFrance) November 18, 2018
So new format pala @ASAPOFFICIAL starting today? Kasi puro VTR stories na. Sana more performances than stories since you have a wide roster of talents now Regine is also there. Utilize them. Para ung momentum masustain and not resort to switch channels. #ASAPNatinTo

It's good that ASAP expanded its horizon generating new concept. But please skip those drama parts. ASAP is for world-class performance not as a drama anthology. Kakaumay na po ang lunes hanggang sabado na puro drama. Let ASAP be known for its world class style 🙂 #ASAPNatinTo

The new format is not good, let mmk, ipaglaban, soco etc, take care all the drama, YOU consider yourself worldclass performers, be true to it, give us worldclass performances ✌️#ASAPNatinTo

Despite criticisms, others were hugely complimentary about the Kapamilya show, with some praising the show’s good intentions to feature ordinary people with inspiring stories while others we’re happy seeing all of the previous champions from different singing competitions in one stage.
ABS singing champions in one stage is just AWESOME! Goosebumps! #ASAPNatinTo
