Complaint.
PNP Chief General Oscar Albayalde recently complained about FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano‘s storyline. According to him, the show painted a “bad impression” about the police force. DILG seriously considered filing charges against the producers if they continue “with their grossly unfair and inaccurate portrayal of our police force”.
Joint statement.
In the statement, DILG and PNP noted the show’s valuable lesson.
“The DILG, including its attached agency the Philippine National Police, will continue to support ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ as it continues to inspire Filipinos with the valuable lesson that in the end, good will always triumph over evil.”
PNP also cited the importance of respect toward the men in uniforms while recognizing Probinsyano’s freedom to create and convey its story. ABS-CBN and Martin assured that Cardo Dalisay will continue to portray the role as a good police officer.
