ABS-CBN and GMA Network are both claiming to have TV ratings lead for October 2018. The results came from the two TV ratings survey company, NUTAM and Kantar Media.

ABS-CBN is still the #1 TV network in the Philippines, according to Kantar Media. The ratings service provider recorded the media network to beat its rival, GMA Network, by a wide margin for the whole month of October this year.
Viewers nationwide turn to ABS-CBN for news as it scored an average audience share of 44% while GMA Network only has 31%. ABS-CBN ruled both in urban and rural homes, particularly in Metro Manila. It recorded an average audience share of 42% while GMA Network only had 25%. In Mega Manila, Kapamilyas won with 36% while Kapusos lost with 33%.
ABS-CBN had a strong viewership in Total Luzon with an average audience share of 39% while GMA had 34%. Total Visayas recorded ABS-CBN with 53% while GMA with 24%. In Total Mindanao, ABS-CBN still won with 53% while GMA had 25%.
Kapamilyas won all time blocks, especially the prime time where it scored an average audience share of 48% than GMA’s 31%. In the morning block, ABS-CBN had 36% audience share while GMA had a 28%. ABS-CBN still dominated the noontime block with 43%, compared to GMA Network’s 32%. In the afternoon block, ABS-CBN won against GMA Network with 44% while the latter had 33%.
Kantar Media used a nationwide panel size of 2, 610 urban and rural homes, representing a 100% of total Philippine TV viewing population.
NUTAM.
According to NUTAM, GMA Network kept a strong nationwide ratings compared to ABS-CBN. The ratings service provider recorded the media network to beat its rival. The Kapuso network registered a 41.1% average of total day people audience share while ABS-CBN had 37.2%.
GMA Network had a strong viewership in Urban Luzon an average total day people audience share of 46.9% versus the competition’s 30.9%. In Mega Manila, GMA Network had a 49.1% while ABS-CBN scored 28.1%.
In the morning block, Kapusos recorded a people audience share of 39.9% which beat Kapamilya’s 32.0%. GMA Network still dominated the afternoon block with 41.7% against ABS-CBN’s 37.4%. NUTAM recorded GMA Network reigning in the prime time block with 41.3% while ABS-CBN had 39.3%.
