Kris Bernal added another achievement to her list as she bought a new home in West Covina, California. She explained that she isn’t actually rich and just saved for the house.

Kris shared how she saved up for the house. She noted how she dropped a stylist, driver and maid.
“Hindi ako maraming pera, pero for so long kasi eleven years ko sa industry sobrang tipid ko. Tinitipid ko ang sarili ko sa maraming bagay. Sabi ko nga wala akong magandang sasakyan… I mean hindi ako bumibili ng malalaking sasakyan. For so long din, wala akong driver, regular stylist, nag-stylist lang ako pag may events lang. Wala akong maid sa bahay, kami-kami lang din. So, ang dami kong tinipid sa life ko para ma-pursue ko yun.”
Kris pointed out that she deprived herself from things she wanted just to save for the house.
“Deprived ako dun sa mga gusto ko para sa sarili ko. So, naipon yun nang naipon, and yung Mommy ko kasi ang galing din sa pera. Kaya yun nakabili kami ng house sa US at na-open ko yung mga business na gusto ko.”
Is there a benefactor?
Kris dismissed rumors about someone financing her new house in California. She really did save up.
“In all honesty, wala akong financier o benefactor, or even sa dyowa ko wala rin. Hindi siya maluho or whatever. Lahat yun galing sa akin. Grabe ako magtipid, grabe ako mag-ipon. Saka yung pera ko talagang naka-time deposit yan, iniiwan ko lang kung saan-saang bank, hanggang sa ilang years na siya.”
“Dun ko naipon lahat yun. Hindi ako milyonarya. Tipid ko lang talaga, as in every peso counts. Kaya lahat ng tao na kilala ako, lalo na pag si Aljur dati na pag tinanong nyo kung anong one word that would describe me, kuripot ang word niya.”
