Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is a certified Kapamilya. She signed a contract with ABS-CBN on October 17, Wednesday. A media grand press conference was held at the Dolphy Theater to welcome Regine to ABS-CBN.

Although Regine left GMA Network, she is still very thankful to the network.
“The main reason really is, first of all, I just wanna say that 20 years po ako sa GMA and I am very thankful to them. I am very grateful to them dahil po sa kanila, napatagal po ang aking career, nabigyan ako ng pagkakataon na mag-host, mag-serye, at marami pang iba. So, sa akin po, maraming salamat po sa GMA.”
Needs to work with the ‘number one station.’
Regine noted that she knows her place in the industry.
“No… you know, at my age and at the stage of my career, we all know, you know, alam nilang lahat ng mga reporters dito na mga kaibigan ko na, hindi naman ako ilusyunadang tao. Alam ko naman kung ano yung lugar ko sa industry.”
She expressed her appreciation towards the welcome ABS-CBN gave her. Regine doesn’t know how long she can still sing and she wants to work with talented singers.
“Sobra akong touched na touched sa welcome na ibinigay sa akin ng ABS-CBN kasi hindi ko akalain na ganun ako kaimportante, hindi po ako mailusyunadong tao. But the reason why I’m here is because hindi ko alam kung hanggang kailan ko pa kayang kumanta, and I want to work with their talented singers.”
