- The singer also expresses her interest to appear in the Coco Martin series
During the contract signing of Regine Velasquez with the Kapamilya network, the singer revealed a lot of interesting facts about GMA.
According to Regine, GMA has exerted all efforts to defeat its biggest competition so far – FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
The Kapuso network launched a variety of projects to rule over the timeslot, but they all failed.
Regine reminisced her time being part of the series “Mulawin vs Ravena” which GMA also used against the Kapamilya series.
Regine exclaimed, “Eh ‘yung sa soap ko na ‘yon, goddess ako doon. Namatay ako. Goddess nga ako. Namatay ako. Buhay pa rin si Coco.
“Three years na sila, ‘di ba? At parang 12 shows, o 15 na ang itinapat ng GMA sa ‘Ang Probinsyano’.
“Nag-try naman kami. We tried our best.”
“Victor Magtanggol” was able to compete with “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” on its pilot episode. But that was just a rare feat. Alden Richards still can’t surpass Coco Martin.
Regine also opened up the idea of making a guest appearance in Coco Martin’s show.
“Go ako diyan. Puwede kaya ‘yon? Pero gusto ko ex-(girlfriend) ako. Ang labo naman.
“Pero like I said, lahat papatulan ko, pati News, ha. Exciting kasi, eh. Alam mo ‘yon, hindi ko inakala na… Hindi ko ma-explain ang sarili ko. Naloloka ako.
“Pero, it will be an honor kung magiging part ako ng ‘Ang Probinsyano’. Lahat talaga papatulan ko!”
Regine Velasquez has two upcoming projects in ABS-CBN. First is ‘ASAP,’ and second is being a judge of the upcoming Kapamilya singing contest ‘Idol Philippines.’
