Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa and Miss Universe Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina are part of the newest sexy-drama Precious Hearts Romances: Los Bastardos.
They join the show’s other leading ladies Ritz Azul, Jane Oineza, Mica Javier and Maryjoy Apostol. Kylie and Maxine will be involved in a love triangle with Jake Cuenca.
Losing the beauty queen stature.
Maxine shared that she had to loosen up and step out of her beauty queen image. She noted that her character in Hanggang Saan was still very much like her. Her role in Los Bastardos as Isay, on the other hand, challenged her into becoming someone different.
“Nag-workshop po kami bago kami isabak sa taping. Actually kasi diba, nanggaling ako sa Hanggang Saan (as a) lawyer, very near sa beauty queen. So ngayon, sobrang ibang-iba, very different talaga. Now, I have… freedom to act anything that you want… Si Isay kasi, probinsyana. So ako, kailangan ko mag-loosen up and not really beauty queen-like. So, this is new to me talaga. Na-enjoy ko naman.”
Proving something.
Kylie noted that she and Maxine are proving that they are not just beauty queens but also actresses. She thanked RSB himself, Direk Ruel S. Bayani for trusting them with the roles.
“Kami ni Maxine, we’re trying to… we’re here to prove ourselves na we can act… Ako naman, malaki ‘yung pasasalamat ko kay direk Ruel (Bayani) dahil binigay niya ‘tong opportunity na ‘to sa amin… He trusted us with the role and para sa akin naman, dito ako na-challenge na patunayan ‘yung sarili ko… We’re all here to prove something.”
Los Bastardos also stars Ronaldo Valdez, Diego Loyzaga, Joshua Colet, Marco Gumabao and Albie Casiño among others.
