- Regine Velasquez doesn’t have any involvement in Studio 7.
- Kapuso executive Ruth Marinas explained why in an interview.
Regine Velasquez has yet to confirm her alleged transfer from GMA Network to ABS-CBN. This, however, is not the reason why Regine doesn’t have any involvement in promoting GMA Network’s newest musical variety show, Studio 7.
Kapuso executive Ruth Marinas explained why in an interview with PEP.ph.
Regine’s exclusion.
Ruth shared that Studio 7 was conceptualized when Regine was planning for a US Tour.
“Well, kasi marami yung talks, e, between the network and Regine, I’m not privy to all those dealings. But when this was conceptualized, alam ko na personally that Regine has a U.S. tour, eh. After ng The Clash, aalis siya, e. Kaya hindi talaga siya nakasama sa line-up kasi aalis siya. Two weeks siya sa U.S., e. In terms of schedule, alam naming sakto sa schedule (yung tour), so hindi magsaswak.”
The Clash.
According to Ruth, Regine was very happy with the outcome of the program.
“Sobrang saya, Regine was in high spirits, sobra siyang happy. She would tell me over and over throughout the preparation for the live na, ‘Ang ganda, Miss Ruth. Ang ganda ganda. Sobra siyang happy. Miss Lani (Misalucha) was very sick, naospital siya, e. Pero sobra siyang happy, game siya. Si Christian (Bautista), si Miss Ai-Ai (delas Alas), sobrang saya lang yung atmosphere na kahit tense. Yung clashers din kasi magkakasundo sila, e, kahit magkakalaban. They became a family, they’re friends, sobrang positive lang.”
The Clash staged its finals in Studio 7. When asked why, the Kapuso exec explained why.
“Well, parang mas intimate. We actually thought of bringing it out pero parang we decided na since it’s the home of the show, doon na lang din sa Studio 7.”
