Erik Matti gave up his position as the director of Liza Soberano’s upcoming movie “Darna.”
Due to this sudden exit, Matti felt obliged to bid Liza a proper farewell since he is the one who initiated and pushed the project to be made possible.
On Instagram, the former director posted a photo of them having dinner with colleagues with the caption, “Thank you for this dinner. If there’s anyone who deserves a proper goodbye, it’s you @lizasoberano.
“Hoping to work with you in the future. Now go fly and kick some fu%$kin’ villain’s ass!”
Liza, in response to the director’s goodbye, also posted the same photo on Instagram with her gratitude, “Thank you so much for everything direk @erikmatti!!!
“This dinner really meant a lot to me. Still hoping for a future project with you.”
Erik Matti reasoned out that he exited the project due to creative differences. He will be replaced by Director Jerrold Tarog – the director of “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.”
Both Matti and Soberano hope to work together again in the future.
