elait! is a leveled up rolled ice cream concept developed from Caravan Food Group, Inc. They recently introduced the Philippines’ first rolled yogurt which comes in different flavors and held a Basic Sign Language workshop on September 25, Tuesday.
Inclusivity.
elait! recognizes the right of Deaf persons to work, on an equal basis with others. This includes the right to the opportunity to gain a living by work freely chosen or accepted in a labour market and work environment that is open, inclusive and accessible to persons with disabilities. elait! shows their support to the Philippine Deaf Community and one part of this is having deaf partners in their team of artisan rollers.
Workshop.
The workshop aimed to promote awareness of the capabilities of Deaf persons. One of the goal is to practice Basic Sign Language in order to communicate and interact with one another and experience Filipino Sign Language with Deaf partners. Caravan Food Group, Inc. CEO Francis Reyes expressed how he had always wanted elait! to be more than just a dessert chain as it now has Deaf partners in their team of artisan rollers.
Coordinator of Deaf Advocacy Program from the Benilde School of Deaf and Applied Studies Raymond Manding had an orientation about Deaf persons and their needs.
Meanwhile, Hand & Heart General Manager Genevieve Diokno taught her audience simple and Basic Sign Language.
