Valerie Concepcion is a freelance actress which means that she can do projects for ABS-CBN, GMA Network, and TV5. She was originally supposed to be an exclusive Kapuso artist.
She became a freelancer when she started to do projects with ABS-CBN.

Valerie is currenty always seen in GMA soaps. She is part of the upcoming Kapuso series, Ika-5 Utos set to premiere on September 10, Monday.
“As a freelancer kasi, hangga’t walang ibang regular show sa kabilang network, pwede kang mag-guest. Pero kahit may offer sa kabila, hindi mo pwedeng tanggapin kasi may show ka. Nagkakataon lang na nauuna lagi ang GMA. Kasi katulad niyan, may show ako tapos biglang may iinquire na show ang ABS, hindi ako pwede. Nag-i-inquire pa rin sila, nagkakataon lang na laging nauuna ang GMA.”

One of Direk Laurice Guillen’s biggest hits is Ika-6 Na Utos and occupying the same time slot will be Ika-5 Utos. The series will replace Contessa on September 10, Monday right after Eat Bulaga. The show has a powerhouse cast led by three strong women: Gelli de Belen as Kelly, Jean Garcia as Eloisa and Valerie as Clarisse.
Their story will start with friendship and end with betrayal. Eloisa is married to Angelo (Neil Ryan Sese) and they have a son, Jeffrey (Jeric Gonzales). Clarisse, on the other hand, is married to Nardo (Tonton Gutierrez). They have three children: Leo (Kiko Rodriguez), Francis (Migo Adecer) and Candy (Klea Pineda). Kelly is married to Benjie (Antonio Aquitania) and they have a son, Carlo (Jake Vargas). Inah de Belen portrays Daniella, Carlo’s battered girlfriend.

“Na-e-enjoy ko yung pagiging kontrabida kasi hindi masyadong mabigat, wala masyadong iyak iyakan. Pero ito iba, iba yung challenge kasi ang gagaling ng mga kasama, bigatin yung mga artistang kasama mo, bigatin din yung director mo na parang feeling mo kailangan you’re always at your best kasi nga hindi ka pwedeng mapag-iwanan…”
The first conflict starts when Eloisa and Nardo found out that their partners Angelo and Clarisse are having an affair. During a confrontation, Clarisse accidentally kills Angelo. The second conflict continues as Carlo punishes Leo during a hazing incident where the latter was killed. The punishment was caused after Carlo saw Leo with Daniella. Jeffrey, however, was the one who gets accused for Leo’s demise.
Valerie detailed how she leveled up her acting in the said series.
“Baka mamaya, mapansin nila na, ‘Ano ba yan, hindi marunong si Valerie umarte kumpara sa iba.’ Kaya kailangan, makipagsabayan ka talaga so nandoon talaga yung challenge and struggle ko dito sa role na ito and yung pressure din siyempre galing sa Ika-6 Na Utos.”
