- “The Kids’ Choice” premiere brings joy to more families nationwide

More Filipino families tuned in to the premiere of “The Kids’ Choice” as the show debuted strongly in national TV ratings and impressed viewers with non-celebrity families’ performances including sand art, bird tricks, and hiphop choreography last Saturday and Sunday (September 1 and 2).
The show recorded a national TV rating of 29% last Saturday versus “The Clash” that only got 18.9%, according to data from Kantar Media. Its reigned continued last Sunday as it hit 28.8%, while its rival show only registered 20.9%.
It was a fun-filled family weekend for viewers as the show’s kiddie judges or “The Just Kids League” brought entertainment with their honest yet adorable comments on the performances of non-celebrity family contestants called “Fam-batos.” But aside from their impressive talents, the families also brought inspiration to viewers as they shared their heartfelt stories.
Taking home the “The Kids’ Choice” title in the show’s first two episodes were Bool family, who danced to popular Kpop songs, and Santos family, who impressed the kids with their military-inspired routine.
Meanwhile, netizens took to social media their praises for the show and for the kiddie judges, who were mostly noted for their remarkable skills to judge contestants despite their young age.
“Jayden at a young age is objective and rational in his comments and judgment. He focuses on quality and executions. Xia and Onyok focus on the entertainment value,” iWant TV user Waynani commented.
“ABS-CBN’s new show “The Kids Choice” is so cute. I like gigil kid Carlo Mendoza because of how he judges and interacts with his co-judges,” @spye_bere tweeted.
“No filter! Just truth! Kudos ‘Just Kids League,’” another Tweeter user @JustPhilOnline said.
Hosted by Robi Domingo and Eric Nicolas, “The Kids’ Choice” is an original concept that gives the power to five kids to critique contestants and sit as judges.
