Sunshine expressed her disappointment on Instagram by posting the following quotes:
Netizens shared Sunshine’s sentiments but advised her to keep their family issues to themselves. Sunshine replied to one of the netizens, “Thanks for the advice. Have been doing that for the past years!
“Unfortunately, walang positive effect. The more na nagiging grabe dahil palagi kaming nagpapasensya, tumatahimik at nagbibigay.”
The following day, Sunshine posted another set of quotes with the caption, “Sometimes, you have to do what you have to do in order to be heard. We waited for years! Patiently and quietly. I am doing this not for myself but because I know what the children deserve.”
Another netizen advised Sunshine to file a case. She replied, “There is an ongoing case. May order na rin po ang korte sa dapat nyang gawin/ibigay pero hindi parin sya nagco-comply. Filing a motion again soon.”
Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano were happily married for thirteen years until they separated in 2013. On that same year, Sunshine filed a case against Cesar for violation of R.A. 9262 or Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) Act.
Cesar was again charged with physical abuse in March 2015. Until now, there is no clear outcome of the case. The couple’s petition for annulment is still ongoing.
