President Rodrigo Duterte has discredited [again] Vice President Leni Robredo as his potential successor.
In a recent speech in Mandaue City, Cebu, Duterte reiterated his earlier statement that Vice President Robredo is not fit to succeed him if ever he will step down.
He said the country will be better-off with a dictator like Bongbong Marcos discrediting Robredo as his constitutional successor because he perceived Leni as incompetent and is lacking the capacity to address the country’s woes.
“If I stop now my crusade against drugs and if there is no order in this place, Philippines and corruption will continue, we’re dead. I said you’re better off with a dictator in the likes of Marcos.
“That is what I suggested. You can have constitutional succession, it’s Robredo. But she cannot hack it.”
Duterte has always been a vocal supporter of the Marcoses especially defeated to Vice Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos.
For Duterte, Bongbong Marcos or Sen. Chiz Escudero is the rightful person to succeed him if ever he will step down.
Marcos is currently questioning Robredo‘s Vice Presidential win at the Presidential Electoral Tribunal.
The Vice President’s camp, however, has yet to issue statement regarding Duterte’s latest remarks.
