Maricris Garcia is all set to celebrate her 11th-anniversary concert titled “Mar1cr1s.”
Maricris Garcia was once part of an all-female trio dubbed as “La Diva” whose other members include Jona Viray and Aicelle Santos. The group disbanded in 2015.
Garcia plans to gather the group once again in her upcoming concert. Apparently, she has to consider several factors.
Jona is now a talent of ABS-CBN and currently has a very hectic schedule, while Aicelle is in the UK for the musical “Miss Saigon.”
She recently told Inquirer in an email interview, “I’m working on it. If Jona’s schedule allows it, I will go tell Aicelle that maybe she can just video record herself singing in London. We will tell her which song we’ll do and what her parts will be.
“The reunion is something Aicelle has also been wishing for.”
She also plans to invite the group’s original musical director Danny Tan. “If we can have Danny play for us, that would quite be a reunion,” she said.
Maricris shared that her concert will consist mostly of Barbara Streisand songs since she is her idol.
The concert will be held at the Teatrino at Promenade, Greenhills on September 28. It will feature some of GMA’s top singers Regine Velasquez, Mark Bautista, and Nar Cabico.
