Maricris Garcia is gearing up for the concert stage again with her 11th year anniversary-cum-birthday concert “MAR1CR1S: Anniversary Birthday Concert.”
Maricris started her showbiz career when she became the grand champion of Pinoy Pop Superstar in 2007. She became a member of the “La Diva” group with Aicelle Santos and Jonalyn Viray in the defunct GMA Sunday variety show SOP.
She also sang the theme song of several GMA shows.
On her 11th year, the singer confessed that her journey wasn’t as easy as it looked.
“Kagaya ng maraming journey, hindi naging madali, hindi lahat ng times nasa taas ka, minsan nasa baba ka pero ‘yun ‘yung magpapatibay sa ‘yo.”
“’Yun ‘yung magpapalakas sa ‘yo. Minsan napapaisip ako, it’s been 11 years na pala. In my case in-enjoy ko lang, ‘yung mga trials in-embrace ko siya kasi ‘yun ‘yung naghubog sa kung ano ako ngayon.”
There had been good and bad moments, but she is not about to give up soon.
“’Yung pag-give up hindi pa naman pumasok sa isip ko pero ‘yung sinisisi ‘yung sarili maraming beses nang pumasok sa isip ko, parang ‘Ano bang problema sa akin?’
“Pero hindi rin ako nawalan ng faith na kaya ko ito. May mangyayari, naniniwala lang ako ng ganun so patuloy pa rin.
“May part sa akin na ina-acknowledge talaga ‘yung pagiging La Diva ko, hindi puwedeng mawala ‘yun kasi for the longest time, siguro mga four or five years din kaming magkakasama, marami akong natutunan,” she concluded.
