- President Rodrigo Duterte made another rape joke.
- Suzette Doctolero expressed her dismay at his jokes regarding Davao City’s rape cases.
- She admitted that she had lost her trust in the President.
Kapuso head writer Suzette Doctolero recently felt disappointed at President Rodrigo Duterte‘s jokes pertaining the high rate of rape cases in Davao City.
She shared a news report from ABS-CBN News where the President made a joke about many beautiful women lead to more rape cases.
Suzette’s dismay.
Doctolero expressed how the country is battling a lot of setbacks and the President continues to make jokes about rape. Although she will never go back to supporting the “yellow” camp, Suzette has lost her trust in the President.
“Disappointing.. kawawa ang 16m. Nabetray. Gaano kababa pa ang kaya mong gawin Mr President?
We have a rice crisis (tignan nyo kung gaano kahaba ang pila ngayon sa mga nfa store) pero here you are at nagjojoke na naman tungkol sa rape.
You were given this rare chance na mamuno at ipakitang kaya pang baguhin ang lahat ng kabulukang ipinamana ng mga nagdaang administrasyon na pangungurakot ang inatupag pero isa ka rin palang malaking let down.
No, never akong babalik sa yellow.
Pero wala na ring akong tiwala sa pangulo.
At hindi ako masaya.
Na pinatunayan niya na isa siyang malaking kalokohan! Pare pareho na lang sila. Mga bulok.”

Another rape joke.
In a speech he made in Davao, President Rodrigo said, “Ingon sila nga daghang rape ang Davao. Basta daghang gwapa, daghang rape gyud na.”
This translates to: “They said there are many rape cases in Davao. As long as there are many beautiful women, there will be more rape cases.”

The President encouraged a more active information drive for women to avoid rape. He, however, did not make any mention about the perpetrator of rape which is a crime — the rapist.
“Pagdating sa rape cases, intensify po natin ang information drive sa mga kababaihan kung papaano makakaiwas na maging biktima ng rape at makipag coordinate din kami sa barangay.”
This translates to: “When it comes to rape cases, we will intensify our information drive among women on how to avoid being a rape victim and we will also coordinate with the village officials.”
