Real-life couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla recently made their movie comeback, The Hows of Us under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina. In the movie, Kathryn and Daniel portrayed George and Primo respectively, a couple who lived under one roof. During a blog conference, Kathryn, Daniel and direk Cathy were asked about their views on “living in couples.”
Their views.
As a parent, direk Cathy didn’t favor the set-up. In reality, however, she knows how hard it is for a person to really know your partner. Daniel, on the other hand, understood where direk Cathy was coming from. He, however, pointed out that the couple should be prepared and already at the right age.
“Sa akin, I think when you’re ready and basta nasa tamang edad ka na, and handa ka na, why not? I mean, di ba, it’s a choice, eh. Kung mag-fail, isang problema ‘yun na kailangang gawan ng paraan. And tamang panahon, I think, yeah. Tamang panahon at kung ready ka, why not?”
In a relationship for more than 5 years.
During a press conference, Daniel opened up about the challenges of his and Kathryn’s long-term commitment.
“It’s a 24 hour job na maging malupit na boyfriend. ‘Di puwedeng nagiging komportable ka, kasi once na maging komportable ka, wala ka nang gagawin.”
Kathryn and Daniel worked together for six years, filming movies, series and endorsements. Admittedly, there have been times of miscommunication and petty discussions. Kathryn pointed out that they both wanted to save their relationship.
“For me, choice niyo ‘yung parating dalawa kung itutuloy pa ba or ilalaban pa ba and ‘yun pinili namin. I think I made the right choice. For me naman kasi, sa isang relationship kahit gaano natin siya ka-gusto maging perfect, ‘di siya mangyayari. Basta ang importante dito, may natutunan ka, sabay kayo mag-grow and move on and ‘yun ‘yung pinili namin ni DJ.”
