Beauty queen Ariella Arida gave up hosting in Willie Revillame’s “Wowowin” to take on a Kapamilya project.
She is now part of Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo’s “Playhouse.”
Ariella explained why she took the big leap. “Playhouse” is her first acting project and she wouldn’t miss it for the world.
“First acting project ko ‘to. Kasi po last year, I did hosting. So, parang, siguro ngayon lang ako nabigyan ng chance na mag-try on acting,” she said.
The beauty queen also made it clear that she has no grudge against Willie Revillame and “Wowowin.”
She explained, “Alam ninyo naman si Kuya Willie more on nagpapalit din talaga siya ng host kung mapapansin din niyo po.
“I’m so super happy with the whole production lalo na kay Kuya Will. Siguro lang din ano, yung sa time.
“Time management din po na parang, kasi nagpaalam po ako kung pwede kong gawin yung something, parang ganoon po.”
Ariella also said that Willie gave her his blessing in good faith and she remains good friends with the whole “Wowowin” staff.
“Lahat kami na magkakasama sa show ni Kuya Willie noon. Lahat po in good terms kay Kuya Will.”
So, what’s her role in “Playhouse”?
“I’m a supportive friend ni Z (Zanjoe). Supportive ako sa lahat ng ginagawa niya.
“Parang friend and business partner ni Z sa show kaya ako dumating sa buhay niya. Siguro depende na lang sa tao yung how they’re gonna perceive my role. Pero sobra akong kaibigan na supportive, ganoon.”
Ariella said that she’s still unsure if her character will develop to become part of a love triangle.
