It’s Showtime ended up airing from backstage with an impromptu take on Face to Face, a defunct Philippine tabloid talk show aired on TV5. Coincidentally, a mainstay of It’s Showtime, Amy Perez, hosted Face to Face.
Vice Ganda feigned a dramatic walk-out after finding out that a Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant he was smitten with actually has a girlfriend.

Face to Face in Tawag ng Tanghalan
Vice was smitten with Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant John Andrew Manzano. When asked who he was with, John shared that his mother and his girlfriend, Viva artist Anja Aguilar, were there to support him. Vice walked out and disappeared from view.

Cameramen followed the TNT contest as he chased after Vice onto the backstage. Vice’s co-host Anne Curtis coaxed John to catch up with the comedian. Amy walked to where Vice and John were and mediated a mock confrontation between Vice, John and his girlfriend, Anja. Vice played heartbroken and distraught which drew laughs from the audience. Anja, the girlfriend, played along and even agreed to let John be with Vice.

The confrontation, however, ended with Vice setting John free. Acting hurt, Vice stormed towards the camera and stepped out of character. John later became the daily winner and managed to be the new bearer of the “golden mikropono.”

I Can See Your Voice
Vice and John initially met in 2017 during an episode of the singing game show, I Can See Your Voice. John became the winner of the episode where Vice chose him as the certified “see-nger.”
This earned John an automatic spot as a Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant. John’s performance took place on August 8, Wednesday with Vice carrying on his “kilig” skit.
