In a recent episode of It’s Showtime, Vice Ganda announced that the show is now a member of the Guinness Book World of Records. He made the announcement before the show ended at approximately four in the afternoon.
Alongside him were co-hosts Mariel Rodriguez, Vhong Navarro and Amy Perez.
Membership
According to Vice, It’s Showtime is already the longest-running noontime show.
“I-congratulate rin natin ang Showtime… Kasi nasa Guinness Book of World Records na tayo…”
Expressing their shock and surprise, his co-hosts asked why. Vice, then answered:
“Ito na po ang pinakamahabang noontime show sa Pilipinas. Mula alas-dose hanggang alas-kwatro. Girl! Alas-kwatro na!”
Why It’s Showtime lasted until 4PM
Vice usually uses his platform as a host and comedian to talk about current matters. Sometimes, he uses these topics to make the audience laugh. Recently, Vice shared why he agrees with MMDA’s single passenger policy which bans driver-only vehicles along EDSA.
“Kaya ako talaga, pabor ako diyan sa ginagawa ng MMDA na ipagbawal dumaan ang mga single diyan sa EDSA, eh.”
When co-hosts asked why he agrees to the policy, Vice explained:
“Sa dinami-dami ng single sa Pilipinas, luluwag talaga ‘yan! ‘Pag pinagbawal ang mga single sa EDSA, luluwag talaga ‘yan! Baka tatlo nalang ang mag-drive.”
Vice didn’t stray away from the topic of MMDA. He referred to a recent illegal parking scandal which became viral on social media. The said scandal involved Christine Villamora Estepa or also known as Five-Minute Girl. The comedian inserted a little bit of comedy in his skit, pretending that the woman was his friend.
“Napa-away rin sila kasi dun sa MMDA. Kasi sinasabi, illegal parking daw sila. Eh ang sabi nung kaibigan ko ‘Dapat pag five minutes, bago mag-five minutes pwede. Eh wala pa naman kasing five minutes.’ Eh hinihingi ‘yung lisensya, ‘yung kaibigan ko nakipagtalo, ayaw ibigay. Kasi nga, sandali lang naman daw sila.
“Tsaka nga, sumali pa ‘yung asawa, kasama ‘yung asawa. Ang sabi, dinudugo na yung kaibigan ko! Oo, edi dinugo! Dinala sa hospital. Napatunayan na di naman pala nagdudugo. Na-ipot lang… Ang laki ng problema nila ngayon. Kasi jusko oh, daming nakapanuod eh. Tropa ko yun!”
Vice later clarified that the woman was not his friend.
“Wag ka, baka i-bash ako ‘di ko naman kilala ‘yun.”
He, however, warned viewers not to watch the viral video as it can inflict stress.
“Pero kapag nakita ninyo sa Facebook, ‘wag niyo na panuorin nakaka-stress ‘day. Maii-stress kayo. Ako, ‘di ko nga pinanuod ng buo, eh. Kasi yung mga nakanuod, pagkatapos nila panuorin, galit sila. Kaya, wag niyo na panuorin.
“Mas magandang ‘wag kayo magalit kaysa magalit kayo, titigan niyo mukha ko. Ang ganda ko today…”
When Teddy opened up about the topic of love and who is at fault, Vice and Amy tackled the topic very seriously.
“Sinong may kasalanan: ‘yung nagkulang o ‘yung bumitaw?”
Amy started to note the differences between the two.
“Hindi, kasi. Kapag nagkulang ka, pwede mo pagpunan kasi. Pero pag bumitaw na, kahit gusto mo punuan. Paano mo pupunuan kung bumitaw na? Kahit gusto mo man punuan, eh binitawan ka na. Bakit mo pa pupunuan?”
Vice, then, first joked about how painful the question was. He continued to explain why he thinks his answer is correct.
“Ang may kasalanan ay yung nagkulang… Aray! Ang sakit sakit naman nun… Sa karanasan ko ha, ‘di naman magagalit ‘yun kung ‘di kulang ‘yung binigay… Kung sakto sa usapan ‘yun, matiwasay kayong naghiwalay…”
“Hindi. Pero para sa akin, walang kasalanan yung nagkulang. Ang may kasalanan ay yung hindi nakuntento. Kasi yung salitang ‘kulang’ subjective ‘yun, eh. Maaaring sa’yo kulang, sa akin sapat na ‘yun. Pero maaaring kaya ako nagkulang para sa’yo, dahil marami kang hinahanap na wala naman sa akin. Kasi kung sapat ako, wala kang hahanapin.”
