Cain at Abel is a go after they had their story conference on August 10, Friday. As of this writing, GMA Network has yet to announce the complete cast of the upcoming series.
In earlier reports, Dennis Trillo and Dingdong Dantes have been named as the lead actors of the show.
Cain at Abel
As seen in some photos, it is safe to speculate that Sanya Lopez will play leading lady to either Dingdong or Dennis. The creative team of the said series is currently in the scripting stage.
Photos from the story conference also showed Ronnie Henares, Chanda Romero, Boy 2 Quizon and Solenn Heussaff. Cain at Abel will be Dingdong and Dennis’ first “giant project” together and will start taping in August.
Why Sanya?
Sanya Lopez is one of the fastest rising Kapuso stars. She is poised to become one of GMA’s top leading ladies. She has the looks, the skills and the determination to be a real star.
Aside from Cain at Abel, Sanya is also set to star in an upcoming movie with Derrick Monasterio. The said movie is called Love and Lust which will require the two to have a love scene.
Sanya’s past roles
Sanya rose to fame from being an extra to doing supporting roles. She played a loyal friend of Barbie Forteza in the GMA Afternoon Prime hit, The Half Sisters.
The 2016 version of the Kapuso telefantasya, Encantadia, became her biggest break. Sanya was cast as Sang’gre Danaya in the said remake.
Sanya has been entrusted with her first lead role as Angela in the prime time series, Haplos. She held her own beside acting veterans Celia Rodriguez, Patricia Javier, Emilio Garcia and Francine Prieto.
Sanya is not one to run away from an acting challenge like the time when she played a lesbian in an episode of Wish Ko Lang and a possessed woman in an episode of Karelasyon.
Sanya has earned her share of recognition. In December 2016, she received a Huwarang Artista ng Taon para sa mga Kabataan from 3rd Indieng-Indie Short Film Festival Awards. During the same month, she earned a German Moreno Youth Achievement Award from FAMAS Awards 2016.
