- PCOO officials wrote President Duterte to ask for Mocha Uson’s removal.
- Executive Sec. Medialdea sympathizes with PCOO officials who want Uson removed from office.
Will Mocha Uson be shown the way out soon?
Nine of Uson’s colleagues at the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) are asking for the Assistant Secretary’s removal from office.
In a report by Rappler.com, it was said that a group of 9 PCOO officials is asking President Rodrigo Duterte to fire ASec. Mocha Uson.
A letter which was confirmed by a Rappler source was reportedly handed to Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea asking for Uson’s immediate removal from the PCOO.
While Medialdea has yet to address the issue, he was perceived to be sympathetic to the officials who signed the letter informing them that he fully understands where they are coming from.
It can be recalled that the Executive Secretary was one of those who felt annoyed by Uson’s infamous Pepederalismo video.
Before this letter, Philippine Information Agency Chief Harold Clavite also urged Uson to take a leave of absence to save the agency from further controversy.
“As a public servant and being part of the PCOO family, I take great offense in Ms. Uson’s actions, which continuously damage the rectitude of my communication and public information agenda,” said Clavite.
Uson’s colleague at the PCOO, Under Secretary Loraine Badoy also admitted that Mocha violated the government’s code of ethics.
While Mocha has committed several blunders in the past, this latest could be the tipping point.
