Suddenly, people are talking about Manolo Pedrosa, the former Pinoy Big Brother teen housemate who took a sabbatical from showbiz only to return as a Kapuso contract star. It appears that Manolo is being groomed to be a future leading man under the GMA banner, proof of which is his being cast in the soon-to-air star-studded GMA drama series Pamilya Roces.
But does Manolo want to forget that he was once a Kapamilya?
Talent manager and Kapamilya comedian Ogie Diaz recently posted on Instagram that he was happy about Manolo’s showbiz comeback. Ogie noticed, however, that Manolo has deleted photos of himself and with other ABS-CBN stars during his Kapamilya stint from his Instagram account.
Mystery of the deleted photos
Ogie wondered why Manolo had to delete the photos he had mentioned. But he said he would perfectly understand if Manolo would from hereon want to create new memories as a Kapuso beginning with his Instagram account.
Do not burn bridges
Ogie said that he wished Manolo had not cleared his Instagram account of the photos in question, not unless the latter has had a bad experience during his stint as a Kapamilya. The comedian-talent manager further said that in a cutthroat business like showbiz where there are only two active networks, it doesn’t make sense to burn bridges.
Ogie shared an example with Jolina Magdangal who came from ABS-CBN, transferred to GMA Network then went back home as a Kapamilya. She now as ASAP Live and hosts Magandang Buhay with two other Kapamilya stars. He named other examples such as Amy Perez and Martin del Rosario among others. Ogie ended his post, hoping for Manolo’s successful showbiz career.

“Natuwa ako, dahil nagbabalik si Manolo Pedrosa (dating PBB housemate) pagkatapos niyang magpahinga sa showbiz. But this time, hindi sa ABS-CBN, kundi bilang Kapuso na. Bakas ang excitement sa mukha ni Manolo. Nag-DM pa nga ako sa IG niya para i-congratulate at i-wish siya ng good luck.
“Pero napansin ko sa kanyang IG photos, parang dinilete na niya ang mga memories (photos) niya na may kaugnayan sa kanyang dating pagiging Kapamilya. Ba’t kaya? Ayaw na ba niyang maalala pa ang kanyang nakaraan sa ABS-CBN? Gusto na ba niyang kalimutang minsang naging isang Kapamilya siya?
“Kahit ang mga photos with Kapamilya Stars, waley na din. Anuman ang kanyang dahilan, eh ibigay na natin sa kanya yon. Baka this time ay mas gusto niyang puro memories naman niya sa GMA-7 ang gusto niyang laman ng IG niya.
“Pero ito, opinyon ko lang — sana lang, di na niya in-erase. Nakakabit na sa kanyang pagkatao at career na minsan siyang naging Kapamilya. Unless, meron siyang di magandang karanasan sa dati niyang istasyon. O nagalit siya?
“Sa panahon ngayon, it’s very hard to burn bridges. Dalawang active na istasyon na lang ngayon ang namamayani. Isang halimbawa si Jolina Magdangal na from ABS-CBN, lumipat ng GMA-7, pero bukas pa din ang pinto ng Kapamilya Network dito, kaya meron siyang “ASAP Live” at “Magandang Buhay.”
“Si Amy Perez, from ABS, nag-Channel 5, tapos, nu’ng nakabalik — may UKG, It’s Showtime at DZMM Teleradyo na lahat, everyday siya. Si Martin del Rosario, pormal na nagpaalam sa ABS na siya’y sasakabilang-bakod muna sa Siyete. So kahit si Martin, alam niya sa sarili niya na bukas pa din ang pintuan sa kanya ng ABS-CBN.
“Well, wala namang sinasabing masama si Manolo sa kanyang pinanggalingang istasyon, kaya ma-happy na dapat tayo. Photos lang naman ang pinagtatatanggal niya sa IG niya, pero alam ko namang di nakakalimot si Manolo na lumingon kung saan at paano siyang nagsimula.
“Wa echos. Hangad ko pa rin ang kanyang success bilang isang Kapuso.”
