  • She deleted the post and replaced it with a message to people who were offended.
  • Netizens and Davao residents responded on Twitter.

Kate Valdez recently posted a photo on her Instagram, expressing her fear of Davao City. As of this writing, Kate already deleted the said post. She replaced it with a public apology.

Kate apologizes

Kate said sorry to those she may have offended with her post. She went on to explain why she got scared while in Davao. There was no malice to it, she insists.

“I would like to extend my sincerest apology to those whom I’ve offended with my post yesterday. I am just a bit frightened that I could not reach manila on time, I have several duties and personal commitments to fulfill. It is not aimed to put malice or maligned any reputation.”

Kate expressed her gratitude to the people who went to see their mall tour at Gaisano in Davao.

“Thank you so much for those who patiently waited and joined with us in our Mall Tour in Gaisano, we had so much fun!!! Maraming Salamat mga Kapuso!!!”

Scared of Davao

In the controversial post, Kate wrote that she was at the Davao International Airport. The caption read: “GUSTO KO NG UMUWI. Natatakot na ako.”

Netizens reply

Netizens and residents of Davao City responded to Kate’s “careless” post.

One netizen slammed Kate, telling her how they didn’t want her in the city anyway.

“Kate Valdez? Who are you again? Get out of Davao we don’t even want you there. Girl bye.”

A Davao resident advised Kate to be careful with what she posts.

“I’m from Davao. I think (and I hope) na misinterpret lang si Kate Valdez. Next time ingat kana lang sa mga pinopost mo. Kasi may ibang tao pwedeng mabigyan ng ibang meaning yung post mo kahit sabihin na natin wala ka namang ibang intensyon. @ValdezKate_”

Another netizen asked Kate to never come back to Davao.

“Kate Valdez posted “@Davao International Airport. Gusto ko ng umuwi, natatakot ako” Hahahaha! Wag kana pumunta dito sa Davao! Takot ka pala (eh!)”
