Intense beginnings
Rebecca (Iza Calzado) and Rodrigo (TJ Trinidad) welcomed a baby girl, Angela in the opening of the series. After his father’s death, Rodrigo became the sole inheritor of his estate. Rebecca found out that Rodrigo supposedly died in an accident. When she went to his wake, security turned her away.
Stella (Alice Dixson) found out that Rebecca was indeed Rodrigo’s fiancee.
Rebecca and her cousin went to seek answers from the police. Gunmen, however, pursued them and presumably shot the two to death. The assassin, Joey (Manuel Chua), found Angela hidden in the backseat. Joey raised Angela as Eva (Sophia Reola) with his wife, Lia (Mercedes Cabral). Gunmen pursued Joey and shot him to death when he refused to tell where Eva is.
Lia fled with Eva and gave the girl instructions to escape using a boat. She, then, stayed behind to stall their attackers which spelled her own doom. On her escape, Eva hit her head on the boat during a storm. This led to Eva and Inno (Andrez del Rosario) meeting in their dreams.
