- Dingdong Dantes responded to the use of his family photos in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
- He pointed that the photos were featured without any consent from his family and the photographer.
- He also mentioned that they sent a letter to the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano production to express their dismay on the matter.
Earlier, a Netizen and at the same time, a fanpage manager for the Dantes family facebook account called out the Kapamilya crime-drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano production for using two of the Danteses’ photographs.
The said images were inserted in the said series twice in different episodes without any permission from the owners—the Danteses and the photographer. Dingdong Dantes recently took to social media to respond to the said matter.
The Netizen showed photographs of Dingdong and Marian that were edited to look as if those were Joko Diaz and Mickey Ferriols and in another case, Alice Dixson and Edu Manzano.

Dingdong posted on FB.
In his personal facebook account, Dingdong shared how a fan page brought this to his attention. He noted that the photographs were featured without the consent of his family and their photographer.
“Last week, the DongYanatics has brought to my attention that photos of our family were used and altered for a primetime television show. In two episodes of Ang Probinsyano, our wedding photo and a photo taken during Zia’s baptism were edited and featured without the consent of our photographer and our family.
“I have been deeply thinking about disclosing my response to the public. However, I owe it to the DongYanatics, to other friends who also expressed their concern, and to our family, to share our action regarding this.”

Dingdong’s Letter.
According to Dantes, that they forwarded a letter to the production of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. The letter was written to express their dismay on the said matter. He also attached an excerpt of the said letter they sent to the show’s producers.
“A letter has already been forwarded to the production team of Ang Probinsyano. This was done, in good faith, to express my dismay and deep concern.
“Courtesy and fair practice must always be observed especially in an established industry like ours. But whether or not it is done within the entertainment sector, we should always be reminded of the basic etiquette for online photo use and sharing that includes asking permission and/or citing sources.
“I do hope that this won’t happen again to anyone.
“Below’s an excerpt from the letter that was sent to the producer of the show last August 11:
‘I appreciate that you found artistic inspiration from the original photos. Unfortunately, there is the inescapable consequence that legal and moral rights were violated here. And as you may very well be aware of, established industry practice is against such act as it amounts to disrespect. Worst of all, as a father and husband, I cannot help but feel offended and deeply hurt by such actions, which happened not just once, but twice. Basic rules of courtesy in this case dictate that you first secure permission from the photographer and my Family’.“
A Netizen reiterated the Matter.
In an earlier report, the Netizen showed a photograph of Mr. and Mrs. Dantes. The photograph was edited and placed the heads of Joko Diaz and Mickey Ferriols to make it look like the two latter actors. With Dingdong and Marian in the picture is the couple’s daughter, Zia.
Zia’s image was not edited out.
This occurred in November last year. The act was repeated recently when the show used an edited photo of the couple taken during their wedding on December 30, 2014; allegedly without permission.
The image was poised as Alice Dixson and Edu Manzano’s wedding in a picture frame.
“Zia’s photo was unethically used by Ang Probinsyano in Nov 2017. In last night’s episode, DongYan’s photo was edited and used again by the show. Were the photos of Dingdong, Marian and Zia used & edited without permission? Dear Ang Probinsyano, strike two na po kayo ah.”
