- This is the two top Kapuso actors’ first project together after the 2010 Filipino adaptation of the Korean drama, Endless Love.
Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo are preparing for their upcoming Kapuso series, Cain at Abel. The story of the said series is about two brothers who later became mortal enemies.
Cain at Abel serves as Dingdong and Dennis’ first project together after the 2010 Filipino adaptation of the Korean drama, Endless Love.
Expresses excitement
Dennis shared his excitement in making scenes with a different flavor to it.
“Excited ako na gagawa ako ulit ng mga eksenang ganoon na ibang timpla naman.”
Solenn Heussaff and Sanya Lopez will be the leading ladies of Dingdong and Dennis. Solenn considers this a big challenge.
“Big challenge. Baka isa sa pinakamalaking challenge ko sa soaps by far here in GMA, but I’m ready.”
Sanya cannot even believe that she is part of the project.
“Until now hindi pa rin ako makapaniwalang part ako dito.”
Resurfaced concept
Dingdong stated that the concept of Cain at Abel had been in sitting on a shelf at GMA Network for so long.
“Sa pagkakaalam ko kasi ‘yung konseptong ito ay matagal na sa GMA. So pwedeng naibigay ito sa ibang artista in the past and I think naantay niya ‘yung tamang panahon na kaming dalawa ni Dennis ang gumanap. So masayang-masaya ako.”
In 2011, GMA Network had planned to create a television series out of Cain at Abel, which was supposed to star Dingdong Dantes and Aljur Abrenica, the latter before he transferred networks. GMA Films, however, wanted to produce it in 2013 as an indie movie instead which would have starred Dingdong (again) and Alden Richards.
Story
During the story conference of Cain at Abel, it was announced that the plot is far from what happened to the Biblical characters. The said story is also not inspired by Lino Brocka’s 1982 classic film with the same name which stars Philip Salvador and Christopher de Leon.
