- Marian Rivera bestows the title “Primetime Princess” to Barbie Forteza.
- Barbie is not yet convinced that she deserves the title.
- She is humbled by the recognition, but is more focused on growing as an actress than getting a title.
Barbie Forteza has a good track record on television with hit starrers as That’s My Amboy (2016) and Meant To Be (2017). Her on-going series Inday Will Always Love You is also a ratings winner.
GMA Network believes that it’s high time to give the young actress her own title as “Primetime Princess.” But Barbie is not biting.
“I’m not claiming anything, but I’m very happy kung iyon ang tawag nila sa akin. Lahat naman tayo nagtatrabaho para ma-acknowledge, ma-recognize.
“Kung deserve ko man, maraming salamat. Kung kunin ng iba, okay lang din, walang problema,” she said.
The title “Primetime Princess” was originally coined by Marian Rivera who thinks that Barbie is most deserving of it.
“Si Ate Yan ang ate ng lahat, ang ate ng young stars ngayon kaya nakakatuwa. Sa dami ng kanyang kapatid na babae rito sa GMA, ako ‘yung naisip niya.
“Nagpapasalamat ako kasi talagang it’s an honor na ma-recognize ng Primetime Queen bilang Primetime Princess.”
Barbie’s secret? Just extra effort and the determination to do better always.
“Everything I do, I do it for myself. It is to prove myself to myself. I always want to be better than my previous projects.
“Nakakatuwa kasi in my eight years in showbiz, natatawag na akong Primetime Princess which is a very big title to own.
“I’m very happy with what’s happening with my TV career right now, and with or without title, masaya ako dahil ‘pag Barbie Forteza, they don’t treat me just as a teen star, they treat me as a young actress.”
