Sue Ramirez recently cut all her hair off which became a source of issues and rumors. She also faced dating rumors with one of her closest friends, Maris Racal.
A lot of people had also speculated whether she’s a lesbian or not. However, she has a practical reason why she had such a drastic haircut.
Lesbian issue
Sue doesn’t have a clue why she and close friend Maris faced dating rumors. During a press conference for Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2018, they just laughed about it.
“Natatawa na lang po kami ni Maris. Pero siguro, ganu’n po talaga ang society. Hindi naman po talaga natin mababago ‘yun, pero okay lang naman.”
Although they laugh about it, Sue and Maris feel bad about the issue. She also added that when a woman cuts her hair, she would either have a broken heart or a discovering lesbian.
“Kasi, parang ang baba na ng tingin ng mga tao sa… ‘di ko alam, eh. Pag ang babae nagpagupit, pag ang babae, nagbago ng hitsura… may pinagdadaanaan, broken, lesbian, ‘diba?”
Sue also continued that people look down on other people. Although she doesn’t feel bothered by this, she feels affected for other women who experience the same thing but worse.
“Ang babaw na po ng basehan natin sa pagkatao ng isang tao. And siguro ‘yun lang po ‘yung pinaka-affected ako na part, not naman for me, but for the general public.”
Why the drastic hairstyle?
Lesbian rumors and alleged romantic relationship started when Sue cut her hair. However, she has a practical reason why she had such a drastic haircut.
“Actually, eto po ‘yung totoo. Patay na po ang buhok ko sa kakaplantsa, kakakulot. Hindi na po kayang buhayin ng treatment. So kabaong na lang po ang kulang sa kanya. Kaya napagdesisyunan ko po dahil matagal na rin namang gusto kong magpagupit.”
