Feast your eyes as Cinema One takes you to a place of pinks skies, green landscapes, and alluring waves in the cable channel premiere of “Siargao,” starring Erich Gonzales, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Jericho Rosales, this Sunday (July 15).
Follow vivacious vlogger Laura (Erich), who travels to the island of Siargao, seeking solace after breaking up with her long-time boyfriend. She meets musician Diego (Jericho), who is returning home to escape his city troubles. The two vibe together while figuring out their own woes—Laura trying to discover her independence, and Diego deciphering his remaining feelings for his hometown sweetheart Abi (Jasmine).
The surf-town themed film premiered as one of the eight official entries of the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival, and was the festival’s top multi-awarded entry having won seven of its twelve nominations—Best Supporting Actress for Jasmine, Best Director for Paul Soriano, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Sound, Best Theme Song, and Second Best Picture.
Not only does the film revolve around an interesting storyline about love and recovery, it also showcases the island’s rustic beach vibe and night life as well as well-loved tourist spots such as General Luna, Cloud 9, and Sugba Lagoon in awe-inspiring shots.
The film features Enchong Dee, Mica Javier, Wilmar Melindo, Roxanne Barcelo, Will Devaughn, two of the country’s top surfers Luke Landrigan and Wilmar Melindo, and YouTube vlogger Wil Dasovich.
