- Tom Rodriguez plans on staying in his bedroom when “The Cure” series ends.
- He will make himself busy by making animations.
- The actor is an aspiring animator and hopes to present his work to Disney and Dreamworks animators this October 2018.
“The Cure” series is about to conclude and that means vacation for the casts.
Tom Rodriguez already planned on what he will be doing after the series ends. He said, “Magkukulong ako sa kuwarto ko. That’s vacation for me.”
What will he do behind the closed door?
The actor explained, “I’m gonna try to come up with yung animation. Sana pulido na sana na short.”
Tom is an aspiring animator and has been following several international animators such as Armand Serrano, a Filipino animator for Dreamworks, as well as Disney animators.
There will be an expo this coming October and a lot of animators will be coming. He plans on meeting the persons he looks up to and to present his own handy work.
“Last year hindi ako umabot, e. Hindi ko pa siya (Armand Serrano) na-meet nang personal.
“So, this time, I made sure na I bought tickets early so hopefully by that time, sa September may nabuo na ako na short to show them,” he explained.
The actor will not be joining any competition but only plans to showcase his work, “Just as a portfolio to show to some experts, so they can critique my work, hopefully.”
If ever these animators will like his work and recruit him, he said that he will accept the offer but will still continue acting. “The good thing with this is, like, especially nowadays, you can literally work from anywhere,” he said.
Tom Rodriguez also admitted he wants to be an animator for GMA. In fact, Directors Jo Macasa and Lore Reyes already reached him out and discussed a project. These directors, with Peque Gallaga, were the directors of the 1996 film “Magic Temple”.
“I’m a big fan of Magic Temple in my childhood, so I was pitching an idea sana na animated short or animated series na based on Magic Temple,” he added.
He also shared that he kills idle time by drawing.
