Queen of All Media Kris Aquino recently made her comeback movie, I Love You Hate. She opened up on how it performed in box-office of the said film.
In a series of Instagram posts, Kris also revealed that she was disappointed on I Love You Hater‘s performance in box-office during its first two days.

Disappointed
In her first Instagram post, Kris wrote that she gave her all to depict her character, Sasha. She also doesn’t want to tarnish Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto’s box office track as a love team.
“Warning Mahaba: hindi po ako humingi ng favors for “ i love you hater” because at this point- ayokong ilagay ang tinuturing kong KONTI pero totoong kaibigan sa alanganin. #satruelang i was disappointed sa 1st 2 days kasi ‘di nakakahiya yung finished product & i gave all to #Sasha. Mostly ayokong sirain ang box office track record ng #joshlia.”
Kris also added that friends started to send pictures to express their support. Some even held block screenings.
“Then Friday, 1 by 1 nag send ng pics through iMessage & Viber lahat ng kusang nanuod, mga barkada at pamilyang sabay2 nagbayad at nanuod. Then today habang binabantayan si kuya- may friend akong simpleng nagsabi na may pa block screening sya next week; may kaibigan na nanlibre ng staff of 20 para bonding nila, may mayor na pina happy ang constituents nya, may friends na umuwing Nueva Ecija & 18 silang nanuod, companies na nagpa abot regarding how many tickets they reserved for their employees.”
One of her friends also treated co-workers just to watch her movie comeback. A PR company held four block screenings for the movie. One true fried of Kris’ messaged her to tell that she bought and held 20 block screenings for her workers and their families.
“A designer friend said treat nya lahat ng workers nya to watch tomorrow, a PR company KCAP works with reserved 4 block screenings. 2 big bosses messaged last night to say they made time to watch. More friends & companies bought block screenings but their marketing bosses watched today w/ their families. Tapos dito ko naluha- 1 exceptional true friend simply messaged me- she bought 20 block screenings for her workers & their families in SM Cinemas next week…”
Kris expressed her gratitude and apology to her fans and supporters.
“Di ako makapag SHARE ng lahat ng PAIN na tinago ko mula July 6 hanggang ngayon – dahil hindi lahat ng battles i fight you need to know (this time not for the Aquino name but for simply my name & copyrighted/trademarked signature KRIS) itinago dahil pinromise kay God at sa mga lawyers na shut up muna ako… Pero sa lahat ng nagparamdam na nasaan man ako nakatayo- my whole HEART says THANK YOU for making me feel #loved. (Lastly publicly nag so-sorry ako sa core group ng fans ko- the #KrisyGirls.”
Kris also added that his sons, Josh and Bimby, went to screeningsa without her.
“Hard earned money yung pinang block screening nila nung Thu 3 PM pero 160/105 ang BP ko- palipad nung gabi. Marami akong nabasang 💔 statements sa group chat namin- ibang paratang tagos sa buto yung sakit. Nagpunta si kuya & bimb pero wala ako. Nanay ako kaya nag delete ng mesenger kasi panahon na lang ang makaka solve ng mutual pain namin.)“
Gratitude to her true friends
In her second post, Kris also wrote that she cannot name the place or the family member that had sent her a photo of a long waiting line just to watch I Love You Hater.
“i cannot name the place nor the family- pero ito yung niregalo sa kin today ng isang totoong kaibigan… walang exag- naiyak kami ni Ate. I sent her the pics. From 2010 to 2016- WALA silang napakinabangan sa min at all – pero hindi sila ever pumalya. Regular ang kamusta, regular ang pagpadala ng pagkain, hindi nagbago ang pagtingin… Kung pwede ko lang pagsigawan para maka THANK YOU. Pero alam na ni God kung gaano kahalaga itong ginawa nya para sa ‘kin.”
Kris also revealed what her older sister said that true friends reall existed. She also pointed out that she will be the one who gets tarnished when people would hate the movie. She noted that the young love team has a long way to go.
“Sabi nga ng Ate ko: these are the moments that will always remind you that TRUE FRIENDS REALLY EXIST. Sana nga talaga bilog ang mundo- para mabigyan ako ng chance na masuklian ang pagmamahal at no questions asked na suportang pinaramdam nila sa kin. #loved (to my supporters- i have 1 request- ako na naman kasi ang mabubutasan pag bi-nash nyo ang ABS CBN dahil sa ramdam ninyong hindi sila sumuporta sa “i love you hater”… Ibalato nyo na po sa ‘kin. Nasabi ko naman na buong buo ang loob at paninindigan-inaako ko ang kinalabasan ng kita ng “i love you hater” – kaya kong gawin yun dahil mahabang mahaba pa ang journey ni @garciajoshuae & @juliabarretto.”
Joshua, Julia, and direk Giselle doesn’t deserve the hate comments they receive just because of working with her in a movie under Star Cinema.
“They don’t deserve to suffer for having worked w/ me… Mahusay na director si @igisellle & naging mabuti ang trato sa kin ng mga naka trabaho ko sa @starcinema… To paraphrase the dialogue of Sasha: You cannot force someone to love you. You can only choose to keep on loving. So now as Kris- i’ve learned to choose the path of courage, peace & dignity.) #laban“
Not blaming anybody on box-office performance
In her third post, Kris also promised herself that there won’t be any blame. She also added that Bimby had encouraged her to attend the premiere night.
“i promised myself- walang sisihan… marami pong pinagdaanan sa dati kong home network magmula nag contract signing hanggang mag showing ang “i love you hater” pero NAPANINDIGAN na hindi magsalita kahit bugbog na bugbog na ang puso. Yung premiere night- meron po akong 8 layouts pa, pero si Bimb ang nagsabi: you need to attend Mama, the ones being mean to you aren’t the ones part of the movie… May last day of shoots ako today- pero ito yung gumising sa kin.”
Kris revealed that there are messages from fans, followers and friends asking how to hold block screening. She expressed her deep gratitude and love to those people.
“Messages from followers & friends asking paano ba magpa block screening & yung last was a friend actually buying the whole screening for workers, friends, and family… i know why they are making this effort- simply to show me- na hindi ako nag-iisa. From my heart- you have my eternal gratitude.”
Kris also promised that there won’t be names mentioned but gave a huge shoutout to Darla Sauler and Erick Salud. She called them true friends.
“Pinangako ko rin na no names will be mentioned BUT i have to say this, only 2 former coworkers wished me well & they deserve this SHOUTOUT of gratitude- thank you @darla & @ericksalud. Those 2 messages you sent will forever be saved in my memory bank of “there are still true friends in this world”… Sa inyong lahat na gumagawa ng paraan para iparamdam sa kin that i matter to you- THANK YOU. 🌈“
