Vice Ganda remains a vocal fan of basketball. A brawl broke out in the middle of a game between Gilas Pilipinas and Australia Boomers in July 2, Monday at the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. After the fight happened, Vice posted a tweet, reacting to the brawl.
In the tweet, Vice only wrote:

During an episode of It’s Showtime, Vice was interviewing a Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant, Rhea Velarde. The contestant shared what motivation she had in joining the competition. In Rhea’s words, she said she was “fighting for” which prompted Vice to joke about the fistfight at the Philippine Arena.
At one point, Vice also mentioned basketball players fighting for their terms. The comedian pretended to feel annoyed at the contestant. Then, Vice quipped:
“I-o-Australia ko ‘to!”
