Alden Richards returns to prime time in the titular role of Victor Magtanggol. He understands that netizens have expressed varied reactions to the primetime series from its plot to its title down to the costumes.
“Patikim pa lang po kasi yun… Posibleng nagulat lang sila sa konsepto ng Victor Magtanggol. Yung title, tapos yung costume. Pero kumbaga, nagwu-work naman po yun as long as continuous ang promotion at kapag nakita na nila ang buong material ng show.”
Pressure
Alden admits that expectations are huge which puts pressure on him. All eyes are on the Kapuso hot property since Victor Magtanggol is his return to teleseryes after a long while. Alden’s show will go head to head with the ABS-CBN crime series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
“Siyempre, may kaba po kasi ang itatapat sa atin, nandiyan na po, matagal na pong nandiyan.”
Alden hopes that the audience will like the material whose merits he truly believes in.
“At saka, matatag na po ang na-establish na viewership (nu’ng isang show). Pero, confident naman po ako sa material ng Victor Magtanggol. Sana magustuhan ng audiences. Sana maging successful ang takbo namin.”
Team effort
Alden acknowledged the team behind Victor Magtanggol’s efforts to pull off a good show worthy of the public’s support.
“Kumbaga, yung effort po namin dito as a team, effort po ng post-production who created all the effects, hindi po biro, e. Wala na pong tulugan. Sana po tangkilikin siya dahil isa po ito sa maipagmamalaki kong project ngayong taon na ‘to.”
He has seen the pilot episode which exceeded his own expectations, proof that the creativity and skills of Filipino effects men are at par with the best of the world.
“Hindi po talaga sa pagbubuhat ng bangko ng Victor Magtanggol, pero nahigitan pa po ang expectations ko when it comes to effects. Nagulat po ako na kaya na pala ng mga Pinoy na makapag-produce ng ganitong klaseng effects.”
