A netizen, Marilou Argoncillo, recently shared a story about how policemen had wrongly detained and killed her brother. Around nine in the evening, Marilou’s brother was only sitting outside their house using his phone in June 15, Friday.
Then, police had started to detain “tambays” around the area. This was only supposed a first offense who should have only gotten a warning.
However, Marilou’s brother was brought to the precinct. When she visited him in the morning, he had told her the conditions inside. She also shared that a lot of people were crammed inside a cell.
Then, she revealed that others had beat him up inside the cell. Marilou gave him money to give the others to avoid getting beat up. Marilou also tried to talk to people who can help her brother out. She tried to work out some things to make her brother’s release quicker.
In June 18, Monday, she went to the City Hall to try and work the things out. However, a fiscal hasn’t signed Marilou’s brother’s release papers. So, she went to her brother and brought him some food. However, the police told her that she had already missed the visiting hours. She also asked the police to give him the food. She promised to come back the next day to release her brother.
On June 19, Tuesday, Marilou went to her brother even without eating breakfast. However, the police had presented her with her brothers’ dead body. She wanted to express her anger and grief but she couldn’t.
Although he was released, he had already died. Marilou expressed her grief as she doesn’t even know what happened. She also noted how much bruises he had on his body.
Then, she continued to slam the policemen for treating him like a criminal. Marilou also called out the Commission on Human Rights and asked them to seek for justice.
On June 20, Wednesday, Marilou also posted a series of photos of him in his casket. She noted how people had just stolen his own life from him.
