Myrtle Sarrosa updated the public about her friendship with Nadine Lustre. In an interview with PEP.ph, Myrtle also shared that she still sees Nadine as the friend she had when they were still young and she is happy for Nadine.
In the interview, Myrtle also noted how she and Nadine became friends at 14 years old. Myrtle shared how Nadine would be the type of person that will remain to be herself.
“Kami kasi, magkakakilala kami bata pa kami, 14 pa kami. Iba pa ang mga ugali namin before. Pero siya kasi ang type of person na she would just be herself. Para sa akin, she’s still the same kind of person that she is. Para sa akin, yung ibang tao kasi nami-misunderstand nila. Pero she’s just being who she is ngayon.”
However, Myrtle noted that Nadine now doesn’t fear to express herself in front of the public.
“Mas hindi na siya takot na ilabas kung sino siya in public eye. Kasi, kapag artista, parang meron kang public self, tapos private self. Pero siya, parang hindi siya takot na ipakita kung sino siyang talaga.”
Although Myrtle wasn’t used to Nadine being liberated, she added that times are different.
“Before kasi, hindi naman siya ganun… Pero, ganun na ang mundo ngayon. If you’ll look at teenager ngayon, yung era ngayon, mas ganun na, so it’s different. Yung time ngayon, it’s different.”
Myrtle also gave respect to let her friend do whatever makes her happy.
“It’s her life. It’s her choices, but I’m happy that she’s happy. Kasi, when you decide on something, pinag-iisipan mo naman yun. And I can see naman na she’s happy with her decision na gusto nila.”
Myrtle avoided any comparison between her and Nadine. She also pointed out that she has different values with Nadine.
“Hindi ko kasi alam ang definition niyo ng liberated. Kami ni Nadine, magkaiba kaming tao. Her decision is her decision. So kung anuman yung values ko, iba rin naman sa values niya. Basta masaya kami sa kanya-kanyang buhay.”
