- He stated how much Mother Lily Monteverde had given him opportunities to work with the best people.
- He also revealed what his plans would be after his contract ends in GMA Network.
Kapuso actor Kiko Estrada had the opportunity to work with Kapamilya talents in his new movie, Walwal. This also stars Donny Pangilinan, Jerome Ponce, and Elmo Magalona.
Walwal remains under Regal Films which also produced Kiko’s past movies like Pwera Usog in 2017 and My Fairy Tail Love Story in 2018. In his past movies, Kiko was able to work with other Kapamilya stars.
In an interview with PEP.ph, Kiko stated how much Mother Lily Monteverde had given him opportunities to work with the best people.
“That’s why I love Tita Roselle and Mother Lily [Monteverde], they give me the opportunities to work with the best people. Sakto lang na it’s all ABS right now and I’m blessed to work with quality people and I want to work with quality films. I’m just blessed and I hope to work with quality people. To become the best I think you have to work with the best and you have to surround yourself with the best, so possibilities are limitless, are infinite with movies.”
Although he stars in movies from a rival network, Kiko remains under contract with GMA Network.
“In terms of teleserye, I really don’t know but my contract’s up on October.”
Kiko revealed that his plans after his contract with GMA Network expire. He also added that he will stay loyal to GMA Network if he’s taken care of. Then he shared that he wanted to be picky with his roles in order to give his hundred and ten percent.
“If I believe I’m being taken care of, then I’ll stay loyal to my network. But, of course, if they’re not taking care of you… I’m not saying they’re not, but of course, you have to think of what’s best for yourself and it’s actually my management’s decision. I don’t have my decision in this. For me kasi, I want to pick my roles, I’m very picky with my roles because I believe that you have to give a hundred and ten percent in that. And I always give a hundred and ten percent in my roles, so whoever gives me the best roles and whoever can boost my career up, that’s where I am.”
Kiko used to be a Kapamilya as he had starred in Angelito: Bagong Yugto in 2012 and Annaliza in 2013. In 2013, Kiko was pulled out of Annaliza as he and Diego Loyzaga were assigned to play leading men to Julia Barretto in Mirabella. However before the year ended, management pulled them both and replaced them with Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion. This also prompted Kiko to transfer from ABS-CBN Corporation to GMA Network.
During the promotion for Walwal, Kiko was able to return to the Kapamilya compound after four years. He shared how happy he was to be back. He also didn’t burn any bridges with anyone from the Kapamilya network.
“I took it as a learning experience and I think I grew, and it’s just happy to be back. I was happy I was there, it felt good seeing friends, seeing old friends, Diego was here and he’s really my homeboy.”
Kiko and Diego also saw each other during the premiere night of Walwal.
“I know, see! It was good seeing him. I love everyone in ABS, I love everyone in GMA, too. It’s nothing but love. Let’s forget about the past. I don’t burn bridges and I’ll treat it as an everyday-learning experience and I just grew up as a person and I have nothing but love for everyone.”
