Kara re-tweeted a post from Jam Sisante-Cayco (@jamsisante). In the said tweet, Jam wrote what Senator Risa thought about President Rodrigo’s actions. The tweet also includes that his actions became a display of sexism and grave abuse of authority.
“Sen. Risa Hontiveros on Pres. Duterte kissing an OFW in Seoul: It was a despicable display of sexism and grave abuse of authority. President Duterte acted like a feudal king who thinks that being the President is an entitlement to do anything that he pleases”
“Hontiveros: Even if the act was consensual, it was the President, possessed of awesome, even intimidating, power, who initiated it. It was not a meeting of two consenting individuals on equal terms. Uneven power relations were clearly at play”
Kara also tweeted a quote from an anonymous person. In the said tweet, Kara wrote how a person should treat a woman with respect as she’s not a toy and does not owe anything to any man. The tweet also includes the hashtag, #BabaeAko.
“A woman is not an object. She is not something; she is someone. You treat a woman with respect. She is not your toy. She doesnt owe you anything just cause you are a man. Grow up and start treating women how they deserve to be treated” #BabaeAko”
