- Janine Berdin is the youngest among the Top Six finalists
- Yeng Constantino gave Berdin a title as ‘The New Voice of OPM’
Cebuanos are known not just good in speaking English, but have proven many times their excellence in singing as well; and in #TNT2HulingTapatan—Janine Berdin from the Visayas, the youngest among the Top Six contenders emerged as the grand winner on its second edition of this singing competition aired via ‘It’s Showtime’ on Saturday, June 2 at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City.
Berdin moved up to Top Three after she wowed the judges and the texters with her rendition of Nosi Balasi, which was originally popularized by a rock singer Sampaguita.
Her rendition was an amalgamation of spunk and sultry, which impressed Yeng Constantino and gave the teenage finalist the title—‘The New Voice of OPM’.
She defeated two other strong contenders—Ato Arman of Mindanao as her first runner-up and Steven Paysu of North America. Janine did a Bamboo song medley that brought the house down.
