- Ellen Adarna has yet to attend a preliminary hearing for her Anti-Cybercrime and Anti-Child Abuse case.
- Her legal counsel also used her pregnancy as an excuse.
- Eleila Santos’ parents also wanted to pursue the case and didn’t want to use a mediator anymore.
Ellen Adarna didn’t show up for a preliminary hearing for her Anti-Cybercrime and Anti-Child Abuse case for the third time. Eleila Santos’ family finally filed complaints of cyber-libel and child abuse against Ellen after the actress had accused the 17-year-old girl on taking a paparazzi video of her in a restaurant.
Eleila’s mother, Myra Abo Santos, gave Ellen a deadline of five days to publicly apologize to her daughter. However, instead of actually apologizing to the teen, Ellen had posted a pedicure video.
This led to the family filing the said complaint against Ellen.
In an interview with GMA News, the family’s legal counsel, lawyer Arnold Labay also confirmed that Ellen never reached out to the family to apologize or settle the said matter.
They have also filed complaints against the actress for supposed violations of Republic Act No. 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law and Republic Act No. 10175 or the Anti-Cybercrime Law.
According to an article from Pang-Masa, Eleila’s parents is no longer pleased about the situation. They also wanted to pursue the case and didn’t want to use a mediation anymore.
In a report from MJ Felipe, Myra expressed her dismay in Ellen not showing up for many times.
“The mother of the minor accused by Ellen Adarna as “papparazzi”, Myra Abo Santos, expressed her dismay after the hearing this afternoon at the Pasig RTC office of the Prosecutor.”
Myra also pointed out that she gave Ellen more than a month to answer the charges.
““Im very disappointed w/ the turn out of today’s hearing. Ms.Ellen has been given more than 1month to answer the charges & to ask for a resetting again & for 2 more weeks pa is sobra na. Maybe their play is to delay the case but my quest for justice for my daughter is unwavering””
Many hoped that this can be fixed with a mediation. However, Ellen has yet to attend one hearing and her legal counsel used her pregnancy as an excuse. According to a source, if Ellen continued to avoid attending a hearing, she could remain under contempt even if she’s pregnant.
Ellen has also deactivated her Instagram account.
