- Carousell launches #GirlBoss Programme at Bloggers United 15
- If you missed out on the event last June 9, there’s no need to worry. You can still shop for your favorite influencers’ pre-loved stuff through the Carousell App
Who would’ve thought that making money out of stuff you no longer need could be as easy as 1-2-3?
Organizing a garage sale or booking a spot at a local flea market will cost you time and money. Through Carousell, the Philippines’ fastest growing classifieds marketplace – anyone can start making money by selling pre-loved items. As of date, there are more than 2.2 million items sold through their platform.
In fact, there seems to be no stopping for Carousell. They’re taking their platform one step further with the launch of the #GirlBoss program. The #GirlBoss program aims to empower women to take charge through a series of events and workshops.
“Online selling empowers women from all walks of life to earn and take charge. On Carousell, 75% of our users in the Philippines are female. With this programme, we hope to empower them with the entrepreneurial mindset and skills to sell better.” said Marita Galvez, Marketing Manager Carousell Philippines.
To kick things off, blogger and entrepreneur Kryz Uy shared her firsthand experience on Carousell at a private lunch. The renowned social media superstar shared that it was Carousell that helped her realize that she had a true knack for entrepreneurship. What started out as a mere closet purge for a couple of extra thousands turned out to be a stepping stone for her to start her own artisanal accessory line.
Apart from Kryz Uy, Top Carouseller, Tere Arigo, also a certified #GirlBoss was also present at the lunch. For Tere, selling on Carousell was a hobby. Unexpectedly, Tere’s hobby for selling vintage clothing is now a successful business that generates close to P50,000 monthly.
Shortly after the private lunch, guests were led to Bloggers United 15 – possibly the best bi-annual flea market in Manila. Bloggers United features the Philippines’ most favorite bloggers and influencers. Fans get the chance to not only raid their idols’ closets but to interact with them as well.
