Xian Lim recently posted a series of photos on Instagram. The said photos also include a screen caption of a Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival 2019 approval letter.
The said letter also informed that Xian’s entry remains one of those chosen for the main competition.
In the caption, Xian also shared a story about the Two Funerals‘ movie which they made in 2009. He had asked director Gil Portes for an advice. The director encouraged him to work hard for his dreams.
“Naalala ko pa noong 2009 nung ginagawa palang namin ni direk Gil Portes ang pelikulang Two Funerals. Ang tanong ko sa kanya, Direk Gil balang araw gusto ko rin po maka gawa ng pelikula tulad nyo. Pwede po ba ako makahingi ng payo sa inyo? Ang sagot nya ABA p******a ang taas agad ng pangarap mo! Walang katapusang pag aaral!…then he pulled me to the side and said, kung ano man yang pangarap mo, ituloy mo. Paghirapan mo.”
Xian expressed his gratitude towards Cinemalaya for such opportunity.
